Twenty business organizations are calling on the National Assembly to reject the draft Law on Measures to Control Prices of Basic Goods and Services, as well as all similar initiatives introducing administrative control over prices and mark-ups, which was adopted by Parliament at first reading. They warn that failure to do so would lead to direct, measurable, and long-term negative consequences for Bulgaria’s investment environment, competitiveness, and economic stability.

This position is expressed in a joint statement by organizations representing the trade, manufacturing, financial, fuels, pharmaceutical, and services sectors, addressed to the National Assembly and copied to the outgoing government.
